THE DAUGHTERS OF THE BLACK DAHLIA

The Daughters of Black Dahlia (3:46) is the unofficial music video for the the song “Black Dahlia” by Hollywood Undead. Merging the genres of fashion and music, this conceptual short was directed by Patrik Andersson. Starring Aleksandra Martynku, Mariah Bonner, Marta Morilla, Mikaela, Olga A, Valentina, Valeria Lenova, Adrienne Smith, and Megan Lee Farrell. Produced in collaboration with Indira Cesarine for XXXX Magazine.

Fashion Editor Jenke-Ahmed Tailly used collections by Alexandre Vauthier Haute Couture, Ann Demeulemeester, Azzedine Alaia, Back to Noise, Baptiste Viry, Blumarine, Chantelle Paris, Dolce & Gabana, Elisa Palomino, Fendi, Guiseppe Zanotti, Isabel Marant, Jantaminiau, John Richmond, Julien Fournie, Limi Feu, Lutz	, Marithe Francois Girbaud, Marni, Roger Vivier, Therese Henry, Tsumori Chisato, Vanda Catucci, Walter Steiger, Yohji Yamamoto, and Yves Saint Laurent.

Adding to Dante and Matthew Barney, Patrik Andersson explores the grand themes of life, death and transition in his fast-cut creation myth. Merging a fashion and music video to a high-art level, he suggests that just as we were born and mothered into this life, so must we be reborn and mothered into the next. And these are the sexiest mothers that ever visited purgatory, writhing and supplicating, helping souls to find their way, lending their maternity for rebirth into the next world.

The book also includes much of the fashion and celebrity portraiture for which he is well known.

In addition to print work, he recently wrote and directed a short-film homage to 60’s style European cinema. The expansion to film has resulted in many new projects with the moving image. They range from straight documentary storytelling and industrials to commercials and experimental ambient mash-ups.

Hollywood Undead’s start was hardly momentous. In 2005, two Los Angeles friends, Deuce and J-Dog, collaborated on a few tracks and decided to post them online. But soon, interest started circulating, prompting the guys to form Hollywood Undead with Charlie Scene, Da Kurlzz, Funny Man and Johnny 3 Tears. Originally, the band also included Shady Jeff, but he left the group before their debut dropped in 2008.

SUBLIMINAL REALITY

Subliminal Reality (1:21) is an animated photographic series, features the photography of Patricio Guillamon with motion graphics by Jesus of Noition Artes. The imagery features Francesca Fiorentini and Patricio Guillamon, with the multimedia edit creative direction by Indira Cesarine and music by Hanschenklein.

In the words of the artist Patricio Guillamon regarding the creation of the imagery seen in Subliminal Reality, “Surrealism is a complex but common element of our daily lives. We often daydream about impossible things, we mix that impossibility with real life, and then begin to believe in the possibility of everyday transformation. So maybe those sceneries, the bizarre and the juxtaposition of the imaginary and the real, are just parallel worlds of our unique imagination. I believe each and everyone of us has and needs a quota of surrealism in our lives to unplug from the routine: to have visions of creations, to then create those visions, and finally see where those creations take us. This is a piece of a surrealism from my life, to meet my quota.”

As a photographer and artist, Patricio Guillamón’s work spans the worlds of fashion, photojournalism and pop art, highlighting both the real and imaginary and focusing intimately on the subject. Whether backstage, on the street, or in a remote mountain town, Patricio’s photography documents life through its most intimate and quiet moments, following a shadow, a glance, and the spaces between. Through experimental photography and psychedelic digital collages composed of distilled images of his own and others’ work, Patricio plays with symbols and meaning, offering up his own artistic and political commentary with series such as Weapons of Mass Seduction and works like Ayatollah Vs Uncle Sam.

JESUS

Jesus came from very humble and hard working beginnings based in Denver. He attended the University of Colorado at Denver Digital Animation Center for a few years where he found his first internship. He started doing studio production and worked his way up to working on interactive design projects.

After that, he decided to move to New York with pennies in his pocket and ambition in his heart. After freelancing for a bit and bouncing from project to project, he began to quickly gain some momentum and respect in the industry. Jesus is now following his artistic mind, and God’s influence, to open new doors and meet new people. His work, like his inspiration will continue to grow as long as he is doing what he loves.

INDIRA CESARINE

www.indiracesarine.com

Touted as a “photographic child protégé”, Indira Cesarine’s first solo exhibition was at the age of 16 at the Paul Mellon Arts Center. By the time she graduated high school she had exhibited 4 one-woman shows of her photographic work. While finishing a triple major in Art History, French Literature and Women’s Studies at Columbia University, she began shooting for a variety of top modeling agencies including Elite, Ford, and Wilhelmina Models. Once she finished her degree, she went to London to pursue her interests in photography and journalism. Within 6 months of arriving in London, she was appointed Editor at Large of the British magazine “Don’t Tell It”, and began shooting editorials for many magazines in England, the US and Europe.

Over the years her work has sparked the interest of some of the world’s top creative directors, having been commissioned for British Vogue, GQ, Glamour, Marie Claire, Tatler, The Times, In Style, L’Officiel as well as many other international publications and advertising campaigns. She is currently represented internationally with agents in New York, London, and Milan.

Her career as a director began with her first short film, “City of Love” being featured at Cannes Film Festival in 2007. Since then she has directed, produced and edited numerous short films while maintaining an active career as a photographer. In 2009 she produced and launched the multimedia publication XXXX MAGAZINE, showcasing original multimedia productions of fashion and video art films. The launch issue, The Kaleidoscopic Issue, was brought together through the collaboration of over 100 creative contributors.

In January 2010, her work was exhibited in a solo show in Paris at Visionairs Gallery, presenting large scale photographic images juxtaposed with her video art productions she directed for XXXX Magazine. Other recent exhibits include Motion Deconstructed Exhibit with Quintessentiallly Art, New York June 2010, Soiree Au Louvre Video Art Installation at the French Embassy, June 2010, New York Fashion Shorts at the Tribeca Grand in September 2009, London Fashion Shorts at Machine –A Gallery in February 2010, View Imaging exhibit in New York in December 2009, and The Distorted Beauty show in April 2010. Her photography has also been chosen to appear in Dolce and Gabanna’s 20th Anniversary book curated by Fabien Baron, out in September 2010.

Indira and her work have been featured internationally on TV shows such as E! TV, Fashion TV, Entertainment Tonight, Inside Edition, HBO’s Special “Ford Supermodel of the World”, MTV, and “Make me a Supermodel” UK and US editions. Recent TV broadcasts include an episode photographing Tinsley Mortimer on her TV show ‘HIGH SOCIETY’.

HANSCHENKLEIN

Hänschenklein is a collaboration between director Alex Herzog and musician Bernd Norbert Würtz and attempts to create music and a visualization of it.

The name of our “band” comes from a famous German nursery rhyme. The whole project started about 5 years ago – more or less as an experiment. The idea was to produce a musicvideo based on an audiovisual concept, which were to aplie for both sound and picture rather than scoring a finished film with a soundtrack or making a video for an allready existing music piece. ? ?So far we’ve made 5 videos, which were and are still running on numerous film / art & media festivals, e.g.: the Impakt Media Art Festival in Holland in 2005, the New York Underground Film Festival in 2004 and the Independant Music Video Festival where Luftgitarre was voted number 1 by the Seattle screening audience in 2004. Luftgitarre and Don Quatro were also on rotation on 2 German music channels: Viva and Onyx. Don Quatro was also shown on Dutch TV as one of the Impakt favourites in 2005.Yinwanggitarre got a Jury mention at last year’s Independent Exposure. ? ?Encouraged by these numerous positive responses we decided to carry on, make more videos and realease the whole work as an DVD album, including a CD with extra music tracks.

-

TAYLOR BAGLEY

www.fordmodels.com

Raised in a suburb outside of Nashville, Tennessee, model Taylor Bagley is quite a fireball. Signing with Elite at age 16, Taylor entered a world that she was ready to take on. She left public school and began to home-school as she really began to work as a young model in Miami. Being so young in a such a contrasting environment, she fell into the dark spiral of parties and drugs. Elite believed very strongly in her but as they told her, Taylor was her own worst enemy. Nothing changed so Elite eventually dropped her and she later resigned with Wilhelmina.

Feeling restless and wanting to change her ways she left to go overseas. She lived in Australia, New Zealand, and Greece. It was her first time ever leaving the country and it was unforgettable as she was 18 and traveling across the world to live and work. Taylor worked very consistently and traveled for the next 8 months. She came back ready for the part in her life to begin. She ended up moving to Los Angeles and signing with Vision Models who she is still with today. She made a home there and worked very well, but still not feeling satisfied enough she decided it was time to go overseas again. Taylor left for Seoul, South Korea and worked there for 2 months. She recalls it being the most exhausting and demanding work but she got some absolutely beautiful tears. Having been in Korean Vogue and numerous magazines she was ready to head back to LA. Taylor’s friends were so stunned by all the work she did they insisted on her going to New York. And she did. She made the move in July of 2009, signing with Ford Models. She has been so fortunate to have worked with Ryan McGinley, David Gubert, Walter Chin, Ellen von Unwerth, since moving here.

Taylor has never been more serious about her career and is really opening up each and every time she has a shoot. She feels more expressive and alive than she ever has. She’s doing the things in her life now that make her happy, and it reflects in her photos. Part of expressing herself, she has numerous tattoos, one on her left wrist in Hebrew that means “Fulfill the Dream.” She also has one on her bicep that says “You’re So Cool,” from her favorite film True Romance. They are all reminders to her in everyday life.

Taylor’s family is very important to her and that is one of the loneliest aspects of this job, not getting to see them as often as she’d like. Without her family’s support she wouldn’t be where she’s at today. Taylor has learned that New York City can be tough but you’ve also got to breathe and treat everybody with love and respect.

-

THADEUS FRAZIER REED

Philadelphia born composer/performance artist Thadeus Frazier-Reed is involved with all aspects of interdisciplinary performance art. He studied Double Bass performance at Eastman School of Music before leaving to pursue his composition career. At the University of the Arts in Philadelphia Thadeus studied composition under Andrew Rudin . During this time his work was heavily influenced by close work with Curtis Bahn and Dan Trueman of Interface and Dawn Stoppiello and Mark Coniglio of Troika Ranch.

Thadeus went on to become one of the founding members of ArcheDream, a blacklight multimedia dance theater company, based in Philadelphia. He recently completed his degree at California Institute of the Arts under the tutelage of Mark Trayle, Michael Pisaro, Tom Erbe, James Tenney and Sara Roberts.

Thadeus’ work is concerned with the aesthetics and integration of different media in the interdisciplinary artistic community. Although the process of his art almost always uses his knowledge of the structure and timing of music, music is not always the medium. Thad’s artwork displays his background and interests in music performance, composition, ethnic instruments, dance, sculpture, audio/visual systems, electronics, technical theater, 3D graphics, computer programming, dynamical systems, bird flight and artificial life.

His current work tries to defy the static nature of classical music performance by designing and building instruments whose main focus is creating music and images through movement. He also attempts to express complex biologic systems as music and/or dynamic visual artwork. His works have been premiered/performed in Pennsylvania, New York, Rhode Island, Oregon, California and Darmstadt, Germany. When not working on his own music, Thadeus supports other performing artists by working as a technical director, mix engineer, sound designer and audio technician.
