Yohji Yamamoto’s Y-3 collection for fall 2011 is officially a decade old this year. At this mile marker, Yamamoto chose to reflect on the theme of travel, recalling the hippie days of hitchhiking across the US and living free – something Yamamoto says younger generations don’t do today. With patchwork suits and toggle closures for as far as the eye could see, there was a bohemian yet almost futuristic feel to this line.
