S/S 2010 LONDON FASHION WEEK: KINDER AGGUGINI, ON/OFF, GHOST, LPBG, MARIA FRANCESCA PEPE, BODYAMR, NORTH CIRCULAR & BRYCE D’ANICE AIME
KINDER AGGUGINI
Kinder Aggugini’s Spring 2010 collection took inspiration from darker elements of fairytales and the subsequent loss of innocence that follows. The dark spin on pretty children’s dresses mixed with tailored silhouettes of Victorian uniforms from the Crimean War were innovative and fresh. A graduate of St Martins School of Art, Kinder has worked for John Galliano, Vivienne Westwood and Paul Smith among others. The Influences of Galliano and Westwood with his dramatic bustled dresses and exquisite attention to detail were clearly visible in his latest collection. Inspired by the marriage of gothic and elegant – or in his words, the Marraige of Sid Vicious and Coco Chanel, he has a unique vision that maintains an edge while still being beautiful.

GHOST
GHOST designers Abdul Koroma and Andrew Jones brought us “Aviator” as their Spring Summer 2010 presentation, held at the Dome Suite on September 20th, 2009. Drawing inspiration from Coulour, grids, and Veronesi, the Italian modern artist, this years collection is peculiar yet feminine with a dark streak.
LP.BG
Looking to the Cubist art movement for inspiration, Lily Parker and Ben Grimes of LP.BG showcased a raw talent for feminine tailoring with an inspiring twist. This static presentation featured eight models on plinths modeling effortless shapes of relaxed and effortless silhouettes. Unique casting gave another dimension to this presentation, with models ranging in ages from 17 to 70 and a refreshing mix of ethnicities.

MARIA FRANCESCA PEPE
“Bathing Beauties” was Maria Francesca Pepe’s theme for her SS 2010 presentation at The Studio on September 19th, 2009. Finding her inspiration in metamorphosis, dead Michael Jackson and anthropomorphic creatures; this collection gives an avant garde aesthetic that’s one part punk and two parts classic design.

BODYAMR
Sleek, sexy and modern would be the best words to describe BodyAmr’s SS 2010 line. The bright body-con collection of slinky lycra in bold colors had an early 80′s Saturday Night Fever disco energy, complete with headbands and diamante armbands. The metalic gold body forming tunic dress added a bit of sparkle to the collection.
