Emanuel Ungaro by Estrella Archs & Lindsay Lohan

The House of Ungaro took a huge risk when deciding to take on hollywood starlet, Lindsay Lohan as the “artistic advisor” for their spring ready to wear show. Ultimately the show ended up being considered a bad joke by much of the fashion press that crowded the Caroussel Du Louvre location. They presented bright pink and white eighties inspired silk jackets and drop-crotch pants mixed with body-con dresses and looks that were more LA than Paris. There was certainly excitement  and an enormous amount of press surrounding the collection’s debut, with Lohan attached, and the collection was geared for a younger market than what one would typically expect from Ungaro, which could very well be a good move. Buyers and editors were equally not impressed by the nipple pasties reminiscent of Vegas show girls and the lack of elegance that is usually associated with the label. To be fair Archs and Lohan had only one month to pull together the line, but they are going to have to put forth a great effort to impress industry professionals who witnessed this dissapointing debut.
