PARIS FASHION WEEK READY TO WEAR 2010: AF VANDEVORST, AGANOVICH, AKRIS, ANDREA CREWS, ANTONIAGOY, ATSURO TAYAMA

AF VANDEVORST

Camel, burnt orange and classic black were the colors of choice for An Vandevorst and Filip Arickx’s Fall 2010 show. Head to toe color coordinated outfits were shown in almost every look sent down the runway; with metal studded trench coats, high-waisted trousers, tailored jackets, and thick leather boots as standout pieces. The black knit sweaters and gorgeous wrap dress with chalk drawings gave a touch of humor and an interesting take on the AF Vandevorst woman.

AGANOVICH

Couple Nana Aganovich and Brooke Taylor presented a unique collection revolving around colors and structures inspired by “sand dunes at sunset”. Earth tones and warm shades of reds and browns were crafted into structured dresses with rounded shoulders, pleated skirts and simple yet masterful draping in block colors gave a mod sixties look. Mixed media dresses and jackets were on point with this seasons must have trend.

AKRIS

Sleek lines and elongated silhouettes were masterfully executed this season at the Akris show. Ruched brown and black silk jackets topped taper legged trousers tucked into platform leather boots. Printed dresses and skirts swept all the way to the floor with delicate draping, while a purple sequined mini-dress was the answer to the perfect cocktail dress. The architectural camel jacket with ruched puff sleeves and waist belt is the ideal statement jacket for the next winter season.

ANDREA CREWS

Bold patterns,? over-sized garments, and deconstructed street wear seemed to be what embodied Parisian fashion collective, Andrea Crews. The brand unveiled its Fall/Winter 2011 collection in it’s offbeat take on a typical runway show by having models dance and strike a pose (one by one) to a choreographed routine, much to the pleasure of onlooking guests.? A few of our favorite pieces to keep us warm for the holiday season – the oversized multi-colored hoodie, a blood red exaggerated round-necked puffa jacket, and the multi-layered stuffed cotton “necklaces”; which make for the perfect modern alternative to a scarf.

ANTONIAGOY

German designer Antonia Goy had the perfect wearable collection to keep you warm this winter. Black wool dresses matched with bubble sleeved wool jackets were loosely fitted and looked extra cozy. Silk dresses in gorgeous symmetrical prints were a lovely contrast against the stark black wool enembles.

ATSURO TAYAMA

A rich color palette of browns, camel grays and blues were abound at this season’s Paris Atsuro Tayama show. Fur collared structured jackets were crafted of plush textured fabrics. Sheer silk tops were paired with pleated skirts, tulip shaped dresses with beautifully draped jackets and embellishments of sequins and beads completed this sparkling collection. Particularly lovely was the layered ruffle silver cocktail frock topped with the knit wool plunging neck tank. Tayama proved once again she is a true master of detail and draping.
