LONDON FASHION WEEK F/W 2010: RAMON GURILLO, ROKSANDA, ROMINA KARAMANEA, SASS & BIDE

RAMON GURILLO

Keeping with his signature shapes, Ramon Gurillo created a chunky knitwear collection.? Many of his garments possess a cobweb-like intricacy with a hint of punk, romantic, and sexy modern combined.? He shows his craftsmanship by creating all his clothes by hand with stunning fabrics and completes to his perfection.? He has a wide range of color, but has a concentration with a black or beige piece in each of his outfits to contrast the color.? He constructed sculptural garments that consisted of many separates, textured knits, fringe, layering, and deconstruction.

ROKSANDA

Sophisticated and classic, Roksanda Ilincic created her known amorous looks with a polished and refined edge to it.? She kept the focus on the detailing in each look, which fashioned an altogether glamorous appeal.? The plum carpet worked well with her mostly dark and muted colors, although she did have glimpses of striking pinks or greens.? Her garb either retained a sheen fabric, voluptuous pieces of fur, or classic flowing sleeves or dresses which all had an offset symmetry about them.

ROMINA KARAMANEA

Embracing an all black show, Romina Karamanea used an array of fabrics and shapes to produce her collection.? Her collection gripped a hard edge feel from her structural and architectural aesthetic and metallic detail.?? The shoes comprised of fuming, silver studded spikes around the edge.? Stand out details included the draping fringe, hard-cut lines, and plunging front zippers.

SASS & BIDE

Sass and Bide put out a collection with the African aesthetic quality to it by the use of detailing and shaping in the fabrics and embellishments.? Many of the looks carried gold and silver, intricate embellishments within the garment, or sometimes making up an entire shirt or legging.? The colors were kept to black, gold, white, silver, and gray.? The cropped jackets had a military edge to them whilst the trousers and maxi dresses had a flowing, billowing quality to them.
